Upward Bound (Mercer County Community College)

TRIO Upward Bound hosted at Mercer County Community College is a tuition-free, year-round academic enrichment program geared towards Trenton high school students (9th - 11th grade). The program provides enrolled students with supplemental core classes (i.e.: Math, English and Science) and workshops that will prepare students for college. The program also offers:

  • After school tutoring
  • Cultural enrichment activities
  • College visits
  • Peer and Group counseling
  • SAT preparation courses
  • College application assistance

TRIO Upward Bound - MCCC students meet after school and on Saturdays during the academic year (school year) and weekdays during the summer.

Application

  • Submit an essay response
  • Attach a copy of Social Security Card or Alien Registration Card
  • Provide two teacher or community leader references
  • Provide proof of parent/guardian income

Eligibility

  • Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Live in Trenton, New Jersey
  • Attend Trenton Central High Schools (includes 9th grade academy)
  • Demonstrate academic potential
  • Be first generation and/ or low-income
